The artwork: This playful mushroom artwork was created by Kaylin and Nathan from the Lalela Yayoi Kusama curriculum. Kaylin, a bright and joyful student, has a keen eye for design and loves to paint. In grade 8, Kaylin attended our Female Empowerment Programme and awakened a passion for justice and equality of women's rights.
Nathan attended Lalela Programs from primary school through grade 12, where he graduated as one of the top achievers of his year. He attended both Lalela and the Lalela Leadership Academy and is widely seen as a role model to young people in his community. Currently, Nathan is a teacher's assistant, however, in 2023 he plans to pursue tertiary studies in IT.
